Elo-Kin legal
Children and Parental Consent Notice
1. Adult-managed service
Elo-Kin does not permit children to create independent adult accounts. A parent, legal guardian, or adult authorized by that person creates and manages a child profile inside an adult-controlled household. The adult decides whether the child may use that profile and is responsible for supervision and appropriate permissions.
2. Adult confirmation
Before creating a child profile, the adult must review this Notice and confirm that they are the child’s parent or legal guardian or have authorization from that person. The confirmation, notice version, adult account, profile, household, and time are recorded. Do not create a child profile without this authority.
3. Child-profile information
Depending on adult choices, a profile may contain a display name, role, photo, PIN setting, assigned tasks and routines, countdowns, completion history, journals, school or activity information, health or other logs, preferences, and household activity. If a child uses the profile, their entries and interactions may add content and technical records. Elo-Kin does not require a child’s birth date, home address, phone number, or independent email address for a child profile.
4. Purposes and collection limits
Child-profile information is used to provide the household features selected by the adult, apply permissions, synchronize devices, deliver requested reminders, secure the Service, provide support, and comply with law. Adults should collect and enter only information reasonably needed for those purposes. Elo-Kin does not condition participation on providing more child information than reasonably necessary for a feature.
5. Sharing and service providers
Information may be visible to authorized members of the same household according to permissions. It may be processed by the hosting, database, authentication, private-storage, and push providers needed to operate Elo-Kin. External AI Quick Capture receives only text deliberately submitted while the feature is enabled. Elo-Kin does not sell child-profile information or use it for targeted advertising.
6. Parent and guardian controls
An authorized parent or guardian may review, correct, export, restrict, or delete child information using Elo-Kin controls; change permissions; remove the child profile; withdraw authorization; or submit a verified request through Contact Support. Removing a child profile records withdrawal of the active authorization and initiates deletion of profile-owned information as implemented by the Service.
7. Children under 13 and local age rules
The U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act may require notice and verifiable parental consent when an online service is directed to children under 13 or knowingly collects personal information online from them. Other regions use different ages and requirements. The adult confirmation in Elo-Kin does not replace any additional verification that applicable law may require. Until counsel approves the applicable consent method and launch audience, an adult should not enable direct use by a child where additional verifiable consent is legally required.
8. Retention and deletion
Child information is retained only while reasonably needed for the household purpose selected by the adult, security, legal obligations, and the documented deletion process. It must not be kept indefinitely without a specific purpose. Details are in the Data Retention and Deletion Notice.
9. Schools and organizations
Elo-Kin’s ordinary family service is not offered as a school-authorized educational service. A school or organization should not rely on a parent’s household confirmation to satisfy its own FERPA, COPPA, student-privacy, procurement, or recordkeeping duties. Contact Elo-Kin before institutional use.
10. Parental requests
Use Contact Support in Settings. We may verify the requesting adult’s identity and authority before disclosing or deleting child information.
