Privacy Policy

1. Scope and controller

This Policy explains how AliciaOS LLC handles personal information when people use the Elo-Kin household organization service. “You” may mean an account holder, household member, parent or guardian, or person whose information an authorized user enters. It does not cover a third-party site or service that has its own policy.

2. Information we process

Elo-Kin does not ask for a child’s date of birth and does not require government identifiers, precise geolocation, financial-account numbers, or insurance information. Do not enter information that is unnecessary for your household’s use.

3. Why we use information

We process information to create and authenticate accounts; provide and synchronize household features; apply profile permissions; deliver requested notifications; save, export, archive, restore, and delete data; prevent abuse; diagnose failures; maintain security and backups; respond to support and privacy requests; document consent and legal acceptance; and comply with law. Where a legal basis is required, these purposes rely on performance of the service agreement, legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, consent for optional processing, and legal obligations.

4. Household sharing and profile permissions

Elo-Kin is designed for shared households. Content may be available to household owners, parents, adults, children, or specific profiles according to the feature and configured permissions. Protected logs and independent-adult records have additional controls, but no permission system replaces careful judgment about what to enter. Household owners and authorized adults must use profile information fairly and lawfully.

5. Children’s information

Children may not create independent adult accounts. An adult who creates a child profile confirms parent or guardian authority or authorization and receives the Children and Parental Consent Notice. That notice describes child-profile data, purposes, disclosures, controls, retention, and how to withdraw authorization. If we learn that child information was collected without required authority, we will investigate and delete or restrict it as appropriate.

6. Health and other sensitive information

Some logs can contain health or other sensitive information chosen by users. We use that information to provide the requested organization, sharing, export, security, and deletion features. We do not use it for advertising. Elo-Kin is a consumer organization service and does not claim that use of the Service satisfies HIPAA or another regulated professional recordkeeping obligation. The separate Health Data and Medical Disclaimer explains important limitations.

7. Optional AI Quick Capture

The ordinary Quick Capture parser runs locally. External AI interpretation occurs only when the profile option is enabled, the server feature is enabled, and the user deliberately submits Quick Capture text. Only that submitted text is sent to the configured AI provider to suggest a structured action. Journals, logs, household history, and unrelated profile information are not sent for that interpretation. The result is returned for review and is not automatically trusted as accurate.

8. Service providers and disclosures

We disclose information to service providers only as needed for hosting, database, authentication, private media storage, requested AI interpretation, and browser push delivery. The current service-provider list describes their roles. We may also disclose information when required by law; to protect a person, the Service, or legal rights; with your direction; or as part of a lawful business transaction subject to appropriate protections.

Elo-Kin does not sell personal information, does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and does not use third-party advertising trackers. If those practices change, we will update this Policy and provide any legally required choice before the change applies.

9. Cookies, local storage, and offline use

Elo-Kin uses strictly necessary cookies and browser storage for authentication, security, settings, offline operation, queued changes, recovery, and performance. It does not currently use advertising cookies. The Cookies and Local Storage Notice explains the technologies and user controls.

10. Retention and deletion

Retention depends on the record and user choices. Active account and household data generally remains while the account or household is active. Users can archive, export, remove, or permanently purge many records. Account deletion is scheduled with a seven-day cancellation period, then the service attempts deletion of connected database and private-storage records. Limited security, transaction, legal, or backup records may remain for a lawful and defined period. The Data Retention and Deletion Notice provides more detail.

11. Security

We use safeguards appropriate to the Service, including encrypted transport, authentication, HTTP-only session handling, rate limits, restricted database roles and row-level policies, profile permissions, hashed PINs, audit events, private media storage, migration checks, and backup and recovery controls. No service can guarantee absolute security. Use a unique password, protect devices, review household membership, and promptly report suspected misuse.

12. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know or access personal information; receive a portable copy; correct inaccurate information; delete information; withdraw consent; object to or restrict certain processing; opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain automated processing; and appeal a denied request. Elo-Kin does not discriminate because a person exercises a privacy right.

Available self-service controls include profile edits, permissions, exports, Recycle Bin purge, child-profile deletion, household reset, sign-out controls, and scheduled account deletion. You may also submit a request through Contact Support. We may verify identity and household authority before acting. Another person may submit a request where applicable law recognizes an authorized agent.

13. United States state notices

If the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, the table above describes categories collected and sources, and Sections 3, 8, and 10 describe purposes, disclosures, and retention. Elo-Kin does not sell or share personal information as those terms are used for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents may request access to categories and specific pieces, correction, deletion, portability, and limitation of sensitive-information use where applicable, without discriminatory treatment. Similar rights may apply in other states.

14. EEA, United Kingdom, and other regions

Where European data-protection law applies, AliciaOS LLC is the controller for service operations and an account holder may independently be responsible for information they enter about others. You may complain to your local supervisory authority. Information may be processed in the United States and other provider locations; where required, transfers will use an approved legal mechanism. Contact us before relying on Elo-Kin for a use that requires a data-processing agreement.

15. Security incidents

We investigate suspected incidents and provide notices to affected people, regulators, or others when required. Health information may be subject to the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule or state health-data and breach-notification laws depending on the facts. We do not use this Policy to narrow any notification duty.

16. Changes

We may update this Policy as the Service or law changes. We will post a new effective date and version. Material changes may be presented in the app and may require renewed acknowledgment before further use.
